Text Box: “I want you to think about how all this makes you more significant, not less. A body isn't just a single part blown up into something huge. It's all the different-but-similar parts arranged and functioning together.”
I Corinthians 12:14
(The Message)

At London Christian Fellowship we want to give people opportunities to serve in the work of the church in areas where they are gifted and feel comfortable serving.  We have designed Ministry Teams as a structure that enables individuals to function in the part of the “body” that best suits the way God has gifted them.

Ministry teams are groups of people in the church who are responsible for a group of related tasks or functions.  A ministry team would consist of a team leader and team members.  The size of each team will vary depending on the amount of responsibility and/or the amount of interested people wishing to help.

Currently we have identified seven teams that we would like to see functioning in the ministry at LCF.  Several of these teams already exist. If you are a member or regular attender at London Christian Fellowship, we encourage you to consider which team would fit your gifts and abilities best and then become involved.

1. Buildings & Grounds (Leader: Jeff Helmuth)

2. Children’s Ministries (Coordinator: Molly Rosati)

3. Evangelism

4. Fellowship (Leader: Marsha Schrock)

5. Service

6. Welcome

7. Worship (Coordinator: Elizabeth Diller)

How Can I Join a Ministry Team?

There are several ways in which you can become a part of a team.

1. Questionnaires - Every year we will give you an opportunity to fill out a short questionnaire indicating your interests in particular areas or teams. You will also be given the opportunity to suggest the names of others for a particular team.

2. Contact Team Leaders – You are welcome and invited to contact a team leader at any time to express interest in joining.

3. Ministry Fair – Once a year we would like to have a ministry fair where you can talk with any team leader, obtain more information about what each team does, and express your interest in being a part of a team.

After an individual shows interest, team leaders will communicate the responsibilities, expectations, and requirements for potential team members and work with the individual to determine if it would be a good “fit”.

Team members are accountable to their team leaders, and will continue to serve on their teams assuming they and the team leaders are content with the arrangement.  If they decide to leave the team, they will work with their team leaders to find a replacement, if necessary.

Ministry Team Leaders

Their Job

Ministry team leaders will provide leadership in defining the vision and goals for the team.  They will not be expected to do all the work J but to work together with their team delegating responsibilities to team members and others and overseeing the work.  Team leaders will be accountable to the lead pastor.

Finances

Team leaders will be responsible for a section of the LCF budget and will have the freedom to authorize the use of funds within that budget.  This should provide some freedom for teams to move forward on projects that are within their budgeted funds.  Team leaders will need to submit a budget to the finance committee in the fall, for approval by the trustees.

Projects which require additional funds above budget would need to be submitted to the trustees’ team.

Selection

Team leaders will be considered by the leadership team based on:

· Input from the questionnaire or by other means, either through personal interest shown or from a nomination.

· Spiritual maturity as defined in II Timothy 3.

· Membership at LCF

Terms

Team leaders will be asked to serve for a 2 year renewable term. If a ministry team leader chooses to end their term, they will have a time of overlap with the new ministry team leader to train and transition knowledge gained while serving on the team.
